Signaling Divison and Railways of Yakutia will digitalize critical infrastructure facilities

Deputy General Manager of Innovation Development and Digital Transformation Director of Automatics and Telemechanics Division Konstantin Khromushkin and General Director of Yakutia Railways Vasily Shimokhin entered into a memorandum of cooperation in the implementation of domestic digital security and management systems at critical infrastructure facilities. The signing of the document took place within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The parties intend to develop partnership in the areas of introducing modern digital automation, import substitution, and ensuring cybersecurity of Yakutia’s railway facilities.

Joint work on digitalization will ensure an increase in line capacity, increase efficiency and improve transportation logistics in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Cooperation will allow the Railways of Yakutia to achieve technological sovereignty and minimize risks from the use of foreign components and software.

The main lines of Yakutia are a unique testing ground for modern train traffic control systems produced by companies of the ZhAT GK 1520 Division. In difficult operating conditions (harsh climate, extremely low temperatures), digital equipment demonstrates a high level of reliability.

GC 1520 and Railways of Yakutia have implemented a number of successful joint projects. Thus, at the end of 2022, the coal route to the Inaglinsky mining and processing complex was digitalized (https://1520.ru/about/news/708/). This made it possible to increase the efficiency of the line, reduce operating costs, and optimize cargo transit intervals.
