Bamstroymekhanizatsiya Expands Uskol–Velbetkan Section in Amur Region

Bamstroymekhanizatsiya (part of NPS) has expanded the Uskol–Velbetkan track section in the Amur Region. The railway in this area traverses challenging terrain through the spurs of the Udokan Range and along the Khani mountain river, crossing numerous water barriers.

To construct the second track, crews processed over 320,000 cubic meters of soil, built 10 bridges, and extended 13 culverts. To preserve the permafrost at the roadbed foundation and stabilize the tracks, the embankments were reinforced with cooling rockfill.

At the 1883 km and 1897 km track posts, the company implemented the CBI-EL computer-based interlocking, developed and manufactured by NPS companies. This system enables the remote control of switches and signals and the setting of train routes.

The project also included the modernization of signaling, communications, and power supply systems on the section. Crews installed 118 metal poles for high-voltage lines and laid 150 kilometers of cable. Additionally, 15 modules were installed to house new equipment and heating stations for staff.

The comprehensive development of the Tynda–Khani line, where this section is located, will increase the carrying capacity of this Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) segment from 31 to 55 million tons of cargo per year.
