The article “One Step Away from Autopilot: Train Automation Solutions” is published in the journal "Technics of Railways"
Dmitry Bolotsky, Deputy General Director for International Projects of the Group of Companies 1520, spoke about the development of the rail transport leading towards the introduction of the unmanned technologies.
The possibility for the unmanned trains operation in Russia and at the «1520 area» has been proven on the sections of the Russian Railways network equipped with the Radio-Based Traffic Control system (RBTC). ATO systems, which in one form or another minimize human involvement in the train operation, have been implemented for quite a long time and are being actively developed. Active introduction of the coordinate Radio-based Traffic Control systems should become one of the most important milestones on the way of further development of the railway transportation to the introduction of the unmanned technologies.
