Work is going as planned

The newspaper «Gudok» Uralsk Mainline No. 007 dated 01/19/2022 published an article by Vladimir Andreev on the modernization of the Yekaterinburg-Sortirovochny station as part of the third stage of reconstruction.

Currently at the Yekaterinburg-Sortirovochny station, activities on the installation of technological video surveillance systems are in process.

Systems are being installed at an even arrival park, an even formation park, and an odd departure park. Specialists of third-party organizations act jointly with representatives of the Sverdlovsk Railway. There have been involved the following departments: traffic control, infrastructure, energy supply. They monitor the development of technical solutions proposed by Transmash suitable for the local conditions and installation of a balk barrier with remote control (BZU-DU).

The integrated automatic sorting control system (KSAU SP) and the Ebilock-950 computer-based system were fully put into operation and linked.

According to Mikhail Shishov, Chief Engineer of the Ekaterinburg-Sorting Station, KSAU SP is responsible for managing hump switches, signals, car retarders and compressor units. The CBI Ebilock-950 is designed to control points, traffic lights and other devices. Both systems provide a logical and secure interaction between devices and make the work of on-duty personnel comfortable and efficient.

«The second stage of the station’s reconstruction ended on November 26 with the switch to the new infrastructure of the even sorting system,» Mikhail Shishov emphasized. — An automated sorting complex with increased capacity was launched and it became possible to process 6.9 thousand railcars per day, which is 1.5 times more than before the modernization. The works increased the capacity of the Yekaterinburg hub in all directions by 41 trains.

In 2022 works will continue, including providing a special coating for the wagon uncoupling zone. The anti-slip coating has a mesh surface which provides a safe and comfortable working environment for train compilers.
