The Digital Future of Metros: NPS Signaling Division Hosts Metro Association Subcommittee Meeting

On June 9, 2026, the Signaling Division of NPS Group in Moscow hosted the regular meeting of the Signaling and Communications Subcommittee of the "Metro" International Association. The association serves as a key industry platform for discussing current developments in traffic management systems, automation, remote control, and metro digitalization.

The event gathered representatives from the Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kazan, and Nizhny Novgorod metros, along with leading manufacturers and developers of urban rail transit solutions, including representatives from companies within the NPS Signaling Division.

Alexander Dmitrenko, Head of the Urban Rail Transit Department at the NPS Group Signaling Division, presented a report titled "Automated Supervisory Control Systems for Metros."
"Digitalization in metros must progress in parallel with strengthening information security. DMZs (demilitarized zones in local area networks) enable the secure integration of information systems and technological networks, maintaining the control reliability of transport infrastructure," Dmitrenko stated.

The subcommittee meeting also addressed import substitution in Signaling, the modernization of existing metro infrastructure, promising industry developments, and practical operational experience with modern traffic management systems.

The practical portion of the program featured a tour of the LoETZ engineering facilities. The event concluded with a visit to the production site of ExpertStroyProekt LLC (part of the NPS Group Signaling Division), where participants reviewed the company’s manufacturing capabilities, ongoing projects, and advanced solutions for transport infrastructure.
