NPS Signaling Division Attends METRO Association Meeting in Tashkent
Tashkent hosted a meeting of subway traffic department heads, specialists, and manufacturing representatives under the auspices of the International "METRO" Association.
During his presentation, "Integrating Automated and Information Systems via Isolated Local Area Network Segments," Maxim Novikov, Head of Urban Rail Transport at the NPS Signaling Division, noted:
“At the Signaling Division, we view the creation of isolated local area network segments within Process Control Systems as an architectural security frontier. This isolated zone allows information to be collected, duplicated, and securely transmitted to external systems without any impact on traffic control circuits. Such an approach ensures that information openness does not compromise the technological resilience of automated subway systems.”
The presentation placed special emphasis on the practical value of this solution: implementing a dedicated network segment does not require changes to existing technological networks and ensures technological independence. Implementation experience, including projects for the Moscow Metro, has demonstrated that dedicated isolated segments allow for the secure development of digital services, monitoring, and analytics while maintaining the reliability and stability of transport infrastructure operations.
