NPS Companies Expand and Digitalize Nagornaya-Yakutskaya–AYAM Section in Yakutia
NPS companies have expanded and implemented digital control on the Nagornaya-Yakutskaya-AYAM track section along the Tynda–Neryungri line in Yakutia. Double-track operations recently commenced following the construction of 16 kilometers of second tracks.
To achieve this, crews from BSM (part of NPS) processed over 960,000 cubic meters of soil. Their work included widening rock cuts and embankments, as well as reinforcing slopes with cooling rockfill to maintain sub-zero temperatures at the roadbed foundation year-round.
Construction took place under challenging conditions, as the section traverses the Stanovoy Range and permafrost zones, crossing numerous rivers and streams. Workers built 11 bridges, including a 100-meter structure over the Timpton River, and extended eight culverts.
The project also involved modernizing communication and power supply systems. Specialists installed over 380 metal poles for high-voltage lines and laid more than 100 kilometers of cable. Additionally, 21 modules were set up to house new equipment and heating stations for railway workers.
The section was equipped with CBI-EL, developed and manufactured by NPS companies. This system enables the remote management of points and signals, as well as the setting of train routes.
The development of the Tynda–Neryungri line will increase the carrying capacity of the railway into South Yakutia to 28 million tons of cargo per year.
