Session of the Board and General Meeting of members of the International Metro Association
On October 6-7, a session of the Board and General Meeting of members of the International Metro Association took place in Samara. Our representatives took part in it.
This time was no exception. The session was attended not only by the representatives of Russia, but also by experts from Minsk and Tashkent metros. Discussions took place on the most acute issues of further development and modernization of the metro.
International cooperation continues to develop.
The venue for this session was not chosen by chance. This year, the Samara Metro, one of the six largest metros in Russia, is celebrating its 35th anniversary. Samara is one of the largest cities in Russia. Its development would not have been possible without the metro. New stations are being opened, rolling stock is being updated, new electric depots are being built. The metro is the only transport artery that does not depend on the traffic jams and weather conditions. And therefore it is the most reliable and versatile mode of transport.
