Modernization of the BAM is on the way

On June 14 this year the employees of the 1520 Signaling Division equipped the Ogdynda junction (8 points) of the East Siberian Railway with the computer-based interlocking CBI-E system.

The introduction of the CBI-E system at the Ogdynda junction is another important step towards the modernization of the BAM in order to increase its capacity.

The modernization of BAM has a complex effect on the Russian economy. In addition to the growing importance of the country in the global economic system due to the use of the entire transit potential of the geographic location, new opportunities are opening up for business and industrial development of the Siberian and Far Eastern regions. The mining and metallurgical cluster, the timber and processing industries are developing. Large-scale investments create new vacancies, socially significant infrastructure, which improves the quality of life of people in the areas adjacent to the railways.

But most importantly, the modernization of the Baikal-Amur Mainline strengthens the economic security of our country, since the diversification of sales markets is very important especially in the conditions of global instability.

We thank the team of employees of the Signaling Division involved in the launch.
