CP UNIT of the CBI SYSTEM

The central processor plays a key role in the CBI system ensuring:
- Conversion of commands from the control system into orders that are passed over to points, signals, and other wayside objects;
- Locking the objects on the route;
- Automated and emergency route release;
- Performance of other interlocking functions.

Structure

The central processor comprises two industrial computers, one of which is always in hot standby mode, and if there is a failure in operation of the on-line computer, the computer in hot standby mode takes over, avoiding interrupting the availability of the CBI system. Processing of critical data in each computer of the central processor CBI is exercised via two channels following the scheme “2 out of 2” to ensure the safety of operation. In the secure computer channels processors with different architecture, different operating systems and diversified applied software are used.

During each cycle of data procession, the central processor collects and analyzes all the data on the state of wayside objects, transmits this information as an indication to automated workplaces, processes all the dependency data, correlates and gives control orders.

R3 and R4 central processors in different modifications can be used in the CBI system that allows finding an optimal solution for each particular project. If required, several processors can be installed into CBI technologies.

R4 CENTRAL PROCESSOR ON THE BASIS OF NEW GENERATION TECHNOLOGIES

High-efficiency advanced R4 central processing unit is designed to control big stations and whole sections. Its area of operation might include more than 2000 logical objects. To connect to the concentrators of the CBI data transmission system, central processor R4 uses Ethernet dual network and standard TCP/IP protocols. High-efficiency Ethernet network and TCP/IP protocols are also used for connection between circuit boards of processor units and the standby computer of R4 central processor in order to compare the results of data processing.

Distinguishing features of R4N device are high efficiency (2000 logical objects) and capability to carry out functions not only of a central controller but also of radio block center. This central processor has a modular structure, high maintainability and doesn’t require any internal cooling systems.

R4M CENTRAL PROCESSOR WITH A MODERNIZED SHELTER

R4M central processor was custom-designed for operating in the most demanding environment. It is maintenance-friendly, has a watertight box, can be installed in premises of any type, as well as in a floor-standing climate cabinet that provides temperature from -20°C up to +70°C, doesn’t require internal or external cooling or ventilation systems. R4M central processor provides control and supervision of up to 1000 logical objects.

Each set of R3 central processor can control 150 logical objects. It is a proven, well-tested and well-priced device for the CBI system implementation at smaller stations. At bigger stations, several R3 central processors can be installed into CBI.
